Part One of our Carolyn Pajama Class - bottoms! Elevate your self-care with a luxurious pajama set made by you! What is more pampering than making your own pair of classic pajamas in a fabric you have selected? In this two-part class, participants will make their own personalize pajama set using the Closet Core Carolyn Pajama pattern. Making this classic pajama pattern will teach you all the skills you need to sew ready-to-wear worthy garments. On the first day of class, you will determine your size and select from the wide range of beautiful cotton prints in the shop. The first part of the class will focus on making just the pants, stretching your sewing skills with pockets, a faux fly, seam finishes, and stitching in the ditch. The second part of the class (a separate class + registration) will allow you to level up your garment making sewing skills when you make the top. Learn how to make a clean collar, set in sleeves, and master any fear of buttonholes. This class is led by Elizabeth A. Denton, who was taught to sew by her mother at a young age. She still fondly remembers the sage green corduroy wrap skirt she made to earn her Girl Scout sewing badge. Elizabeth spent almost 20 years working for the Theatrical Wardrobe Union as a dresser, including three years on tour with Disney on Ice as the wardrobe supervisor before many years working on Broadway shows. Now out of “the biz,” she sews her own clothes and accessories.
